Even after the fourth phase of voting, West Bengal remains the state with the maximum electoral violation. Recently, gross negligence by TMC candidate Moon Moon Sen’s cook came to light, further reflecting a clear violation of the Election code in West Bengal. On the day of polling in the constituency of Asansol, Moon Moon Sen’s cook served her bed tea late than the usual timings thus leading to violence in many polling booths.
Trinamool party workers blamed PM Modi for the late bed tea and called it a political vendetta against Mamata Banerjee’s government. Moon Moon Sen issued a statement saying “When Modi can’t give a simple non-political interview without a cup of tea, how can a lawmaker start their day without their bed tea on time, that too during a very busy election season?”
A day later, PM Modi while addressing an election rally in West Bengal took a direct jibe on TMC party workers and said “Ye chai wala hai.. logon ki neend uda deta hai ek cup chai se. ”
Reportedly, West Bengal Police has arrested the cook who couldn’t provide bed tea to Moon Moon Sen. Currently, journalists and Election Commission officers are bust tracking a BJP link with the cook so that they could hold PM Modi responsible for the riots in the Republic of West Bengal.
