Maldives President Muizzu Joins INDI Alliance, Plans ‘Maldives Jao Yatra’ across India

Big political developments are taking place in India’s neighboring country, Maldives, where its president, Mohamed Muizzu, has joined the INDI Alliance and is now planning a ‘Maldives Jao Yatra’ across India. He made this decision after realizing he and the Alliance share the same beliefs, ideology, goals, and, even more so, the same enemy. The leader from the INDI Alliance welcomed him with open arms as they already had a shortage of members.

When Maldivian ministers used derogatory terms against Indians after PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep, Indians protested by boycotting Maldives, with some changing their wallpaper from Maldives to Lakshadweep, while others dropped plans ever to visit there. This led to a decline in Indian tourists in the Maldives, which was at the top place post-pandemic. There were already diplomatic tensions between India and Maldives due to Muizzu removing Indian troops from its territory.

Talking to The Fauxy, Muizzu said, “Indian troops were too honest and had made it very difficult for us to engage in corruption and coups. We want Indian politicians, not their soldiers. Indian politicians will help us with their expertise in corruption and will also give us direction on how to properly give our land to China, as they have past experience with that.”

Unlike ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ the INDI Alliance is confident about the ‘Maldives Jao Yatra’ pulling crowds, as Bollywood stars won’t be able to resist coming once they hear ‘Maldives’.This will help both the Maldives and the INDI Alliance. To counter this, the government has launched its own ‘Lakshadweep Jao Yatra’ and also announced a Vande Bharat Train to Lakshadweep.
