How The ‘Run For Modi’ Campaign is All About Fat Shaming

BJP supporters have hit a brand new low as they went on to body-shame the Indian public with their ‘Run For Modi’ campaign. Recently several Modi fans were seen running from Connaught Place to India Gate. However, the run was soon termed as an outright display of indifference & sheer oversight toward the bulkier section of the society.

People from across New Delhi participated in the ‘Run For Modi’ campaign, wearing white t-shirts that read ‘Modi Once More’. Several ministers, as well as athletes, joined the public. However, this blatant display of fitness could not miss the eye of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who was pointed out how the run was a pre-conceived slander campaign against him.

“Ye BJP vaalon ne ‘Run For Modi’ mera mazaak udaane ke liye kiya hai. Mera thoda pet kya nikal aaya, inhone ghatiya raajneeti shuru kardi. Iska jawaab inko Dilli ki janta 12 May ko degi!” said Kejriwal while rubbing his belly.

Modi who is known for promoting fitness through initiatives like ‘Yoga With Modi’ has encouraged a lot of people to take up a healthy life. This has not gone down well with many who see this as the government’s intervention in one’s personal space. ‘Run For Modi’ is being seen as another forced imposition on people for whom health has never been a priority or concern.

“I am fat by my choice. Why should the state tell us to be fit? Next, you’ll tell us how much chocolate I can eat, how much Roohafza we can drink. Nanny state 101!” said Razdan, a visibly fatter journo from a local news channel.
