After Lathi Charge and Tear Gas, Modi Govt Plans Bigger Action Against Protesters

After lathi charge and tear gas failed to break the protesters' resolve, the Modi government is reportedly preparing an even stronger action to clear the protest site.

Reportedly, the government is planning to play Mann Ki Baat on loudspeakers across Jantar Mantar in an attempt to finally disperse the protesters, who have refused to budge despite repeated police action. The announcement reportedly caused panic at the protest site, with several protesters beginning to leave. Others approached the Supreme Court seeking protection from what they described as "cruel and unusual punishment." However, the judges refused to hear the plea, saying they were busy watching stand-up comedy videos.

Speaking to The Fauxy, one protester said, "Tear gas couldn't bring the tears that Mann Ki Baat would, and lathi charges couldn't bring the screams that Mann Ki Baat could."
