Maldives President Muizzu takes another loan from India to visit Lakshadweep

Big news is coming in from New Delhi, where Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, during his official visit to India, asked for another loan to visit Lakshadweep after his loan of ₹6,300 crore was granted.

Maldives is facing an economic crisis as its debt-to-GDP ratio has risen to 110%. To save his country, Muizzu decided to request a loan from India, though he was certain that after the hostility from the Maldives government and its people, India would refuse.

However, contrary to his belief, Vishwabandhu PM Modi welcomed him with open arms and immediately cut a cheque for ₹6,300 crore. So, President Muizzu decided to try his luck once more and asked for a personal loan from the Indian government so he could visit Lakshadweep.

Speaking to The Fauxy, Muizzu said, “Maldives couldn’t even afford my visit to India, and I had to take a loan from China to come. I saw Lakshadweep in PM Modi’s pictures and found it so beautiful. That’s why I have taken a personal loan, as I have wanted to visit it ever since.”

After seeing the Maldives secure a loan despite disrespecting India so much, Bangladesh’s acting PM, Muhammad Yunus, is also preparing to visit India to request a loan.
