After various states declared The Kashmir Files tax free, another Bollywood movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jhund has been declared tax free. However this movie isn’t declared tax free by any state government but the CA of Amitabh Bachchan. Reportedly, the ITR filed by Amitabh Bachchan shows that the movie’s box office collection is less than 5 lakh and hence it doesn’t fall under tax bracket.
This is the second time when Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Tax’ have come in same news headline. Last it happened when Amitabh Bachchan’s name came on Panama papers.
“This is historic! A movie starring Amitabh Bachchan had been declared tax free, the location doesn’t matter where it has been declared tax free. Hope more people watch the movie now. I will give it 5 star, no infact i’ll give it ferrero rocher” tweeted movie critic, Anupama Chopra.
“Ironically the movie name is Jhund but Jhund didn’t come to watch the movie.” said the CA of Amitabh Bachchan when he was asked about the box office collection of the movie.
