The online restaurant search & food delivery company Zomato received no less than a thousand complaints on Tuesday, with most of the customers complaining around weight loss. Reportedly, Zomato was mistakenly listed as a fitness and weight loss app on Google Play Store after several people posted reviews about going hungry and losing weight due to Zomato delivery boys failing to deliver food.
These days mobile apps work on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and utilise users’ data to fit themselves on categories that can get them maximum eyeballs and as a result maximum customers. Zomato has been receiving severe criticism lately, mainly due to a constant failure in delivering food on time or at all! Previously Zomato delivery boys were also caught eating the food which was meant to be delivered.
Customers are using social media as a tool to raise complaints against Zomato and many such complaints have keywords such as “Not having food”, “Skipping meal tonight”, “Dieting” etc These keywords are however picked by gym and fitness apps too, which is further adding to the confusion.
“To be honest, Zomato is the best! When I get high, I always order from Zomato because I know that they’ll never be able to complete delivery! This way, I get to control over-eating when I get baked up!” said a stoner from Mumbai.
