To appease Dalits even further, Rahul Gandhi is likely to change his surname from Gandhi to Ambedkar.
Speaking to The Fauxy, the soon-to-be Rahul Ambedkar said, “No one questioned why my surname is Gandhi despite having no relationship with Gandhiji, so why would anyone object if I changed it to Ambedkar? I might even change it back depending on the voter’s mood.”
Home Minister Amit Shah is also planning to use Rahul Gandhi’s move to his own advantage by clarifying that his reference to “Ambedkar” in his recent Parliament speech was about Rahul Ambedkar, not Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
