Student Gets Admission In JNU Using #FaceApp; Booked For Fraud

If you’ve ever been curious about how you would look when you age, then you should try FaceApp already. The AI-based photo editor has taken the internet by storm — all over again. Celebrities across the world are using the App to share their old age photos with fans. But with every positive thing, there tags along an opportunity to misuse it.

An aspiring JNU candidate used the App to generate an old age photo of himself so as to get admission into the university popular for giving preference to middle-aged or older students.

Shwetank Jain was trying to get into JNU for the last 3 years, however, each time an older student landed admission in his place. He tried a lot of things to look old, like taking too much stress, used specs, started getting judgmental, spoke hours on spirituality, and also applied makeup on his face to get the aged look. But all in vain.

Faceapp came to his rescue. As soon as Shwetank came to know about Faceapp’s old-age filter, he used it to generate a photo of himself wherein he looked old and wrinkled like a raisin. He used this image in his application form to JNU.

It was only after an admissions officer going through his form realized that he had seen a similar face in last year’s admission forms, did JNU call up the police and handed over the investigations to them. Police caught hold of Shwetank and are now on a lookout for more such fraudsters.
