India’s daily COVID-19 cases jumped by a record 273,810 on Monday, bringing total infections closer to that of the United States, the world’s worst hit country. Despite sharp increase in the cases, political parties are continuing with the rallies which are being severe criticised by the people.
BJP, Congress and TMC are doing multiple rallies in West Bengal and to counter the people’s criticism the parties are accusing each other of getting more crowd in their rallies. The political parties are in catch 22 since getting more crowd in their rallies would mean bigger cause of Covid spread and showing bigger crowd in others’ rallies would mean that party stronger politically.
Speaking to The Fauxy. A political expert said “The party which is actually massive crowd would go with accusing other party of getting more crowd and the party getting less crowd wouldn’t accuse other parties as it will give them more mileage. Ground reality is different than what people see on social media platforms”.
