No Kidney Jokes after Apple Event Confirms that there is no Recession in India: Nirmala Sitharaman

Apple’s first physical launch event in two years had a lot of surprises other than same phone being launched with a different camera placement. The most unique thing about this Apple Event was that kidney jokes remained missing throughout. Kidney jokes were a satirical dig on people’s incapability to buy the newly launched iPhone.

The gadget experts believe that the kidney jokes were missing because they are too cliche and banal, however, the economic expert believe differently.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman used ‘missing kidney jokes’ to highlight her claim that India’s economy is doing good and the country is certainly not in recession. “Earlier, people would ready to trade even their kidneys for the latest iPhones, but now they don’t need to, as they can easily afford it” said Nirmala Sitharaman addressing a press conference on ‘India, the world’s fifth biggest economy’.

Doctors and scientists have a different view who believe that missing kidney jokes have other reasons. Scientist Anand Ranga spoke to The Fauxy, he said there are two major reasons behind people not cracking kidney jokes anymore, first is – a majority of people already sold their kidneys during previous iPhone launches and second reason is that the value of kidney is now too low to buy the latest iPhone 14.
