Man arrested under newly approved Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for not feeling patriotic ahead of Independence Day

Aman, 27, a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan was arrested on Wednesday, a day ahead of country’s 72nd Independence day under newly approved UAPA act. Reportedly, the Centre government has made it mandatory to feel patriotic five days prior to and also 5 days after the Independence Day.

Aman, who wishes to do his post-graduation from JNU, was seen having no Goosebumps upon watching highlights of Sachin Tendulkar’s inning against Pakistan from World Cup 2003. Aman’s friend, Samir, told the Fauxy that of all his seven friends who decided to watch the movie Mission Mangal, Aman withdrew after giving a lame excuse of tickets being costly.

If Aman’s neighbours are to be believed, Aman has shown many signs that casts doubts on his nationalism. Aman doesn’t like the popular youtube channel Hindustani Bhau and often likes photos of Pakistani girls. One of his neighbour who wishes to stay anonymous to keep good relation with Aman conveyed it to the police and posted about Aman’s activity tagging HMO on Twitter after which Aman was arrested for further investigation.
