An ITC employee was fired because he was not taking smoke breaks during his work hours.
Speaking to The Fauxy, his manager said, “Our share prices have been falling for the last 6 months. If our own employees won’t buy our cigarettes, how can we expect others to sacrifice their life just to increase our share prices?” However, in his defence, the employee said, “With the salary I am earning here, even during cigarette breaks, I can only afford beedis.”
Currently, the employee is watching movies like Kabir Singh and Animal to motivate himself to smoke cigarettes.
