Entire Crowd of Sabarimala Protestors Diverted After A Nearby Saree Shop Announces 50% Discount

A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra lifted the ban on entry of women of menstrual age into the shrine of Sabarimala. Disturbed with the Supreme Court verdict, more than a thousand women came out on the street protesting against the verdict. Women protestors were seen with placards that read “SC is not bigger than Lord Ayyappa” and “SC please ban us.”

However, the Supreme Court took an intelligent step to disperse the crowd by requesting nearby local saree shops to announce a sale up to 50%. Soon after the announcement of the sale, a majority chunk of women forgot the reason they were protesting for and went to the nearby saree shop to avail the never before heavy discounts.

SC later made it clear that all the losses to these saree shops due to the discount they offered shall be recovered from the state government, who had failed to control the crowd.
