Chole-Bhature Sellers from Delhi have started protesting against 20% ethanol-blended petrol, claiming that their earnings have reduced significantly since they started using E20 petrol for deep-frying bhature instead of normal petrol.
Speaking to The Fauxy, the sellers said, “Since we started using E20 petrol, we can only fry 80 bhature in the same amount of petrol we earlier used to fry 100 bhature in, and our kadhais have also started rusting. Moreover, we lost a lot of customers as they complain that the new taste doesn’t hit the same. We promise our customers bhature fried in 100% ‘shudh petrol’ and don’t want to cheat them unlike some ministers.”
The government has responded to the protest by calling them “paid anti-nationals.”
