Mahindra has filed an application with the DGCA seeking approval for its Thar.
The news comes a day after a Mahindra Thar was reportedly spotted on a railway track after already creating havoc on roads. Sources say Thar drivers are no longer willing to limit themselves to just one mode of transport and are now planning to explore airspace after some minor modifications.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a DGCA official said, “We welcome this move by Mahindra. Mahindra’s entry into the aviation sector will finally end IndiGo’s monopoly.”
Currently, Thar drivers have already begun entering runways at various airports.
