India’s Animal Rights Organisation PETA has always been quite vocal about cruelties against animals. However, it is not shocking to observe that their tongues do the wagging only on some occasions, and remain mum otherwise. Reports are coming in that PETA members including a bunch of celebrities have gone into hiding ahead of Bakri-Eid celebrations, and locked themselves up inside a dark room.
Bakri-Eid is a holiday of ‘sacrifice’ which demands the mutilation of innocent goats in the name of celebrations and plateful of biryani. Fearing a backlash from their own, PETA has decided not to speak against this practice and instead resolved to maintain a hypocritical demeanor on the entire issue.
“These poor goats are being kept in dark and cramped up pens with little light or fresh air for the only purpose of slaughtering them on the eve of Bakri-Eid,” said no PETA worker ever! Ironically enough, locked up inside that room, PETA workers are at present experiencing a goat’s life on a first-hand basis.
Our reporters were able to access the night-vision-cum-xray camera view of the room in which the PETA members happen to be bunking together in. What followed was shocking beyond belief! On an analysis of the footage, all the people inside the room were declared to be ‘spineless’ by an eminent expert from AIIMS.
Recently PETA was cornered by some Hindu activists and a few good samaritans on the Social Media into speaking against a goat’s gang-rape. The incident was perpetrated by certain people belonging to a particular community who seem to hold a special position in PETA’s eyes.
A spokesperson from PETA was reported to say off-the-record “Better a goat than a girl, right?”
PETA is notorious for attacking almost all Indian festivals, in fact, sometimes people are reminded of the rich lost traditions of ancient India only because of them. Just this month PETA raised their voice against the use of elephants in the processions for the festival of Dasara, citing animal cruelty.
Besides attacking thousand-year-old Indian festivals like Jallikattu (bull taming), PETA has often quoted the festivities in Holi and Diwali to be against animals. The same organization often pleads people not to drink cow milk and instead go vegan, while they keep their mouths zipped up in cases of cow abductions and kidnappings. Again because the perpetrators are supposedly their closed ones.
As of now, the official statement on the PETA India website reads:
“Our members recently wasted two weeks holding an uber-important dog pageant. The ‘PETA India’s 2018 Cutest Indian Dog Alive’ was exhausting for us as we had to go through thousands of cute dog pictures in a short span of time. Therefore we are forced to halt our activism for a few days. Do not worry, we will be back after Bakri-Eid.”
While the internet is bursting with people appealing PETA to take action against the butchering of goats, the social media handle of PETA India messed the situation further by tweeting a meme which allegedly read out as:
“Bakre ki maa kab tak khair manaaegi”
The meme was taken down as soon as the error was realized. It was revealed that their social media admin had supposedly reclined into a state of deep sleep while silently reading people’s replies and pressed the share button by accident. An apology was issued, and an internal investigation is underway.
