As if struggling as a side-role artist in Bollywood wasn’t enough, the newly wedded couple Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia are now struggling to fight fake news as well. Fake news by media houses and Bollywood tabloids have become so regular that it is becoming extremely confusing to distinguish fact from fiction.
In one such incident, popular tabloid ETimes was caught spreading gross misinformation about the couple. Newlyweds Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia announced today that they were expecting a baby. In an attempt to destroy the career of Angad Bedi (like there was any), ETimes posted a rather shameless news item suggesting that both Bedi and Dhupia were expecting a baby, each.
The couple had got married in a hush-hush manner in May this year (yeah that comes to approx four-months). Our experts calculated the time since the wedding and correlated it the circumference of Dhupia’s belly and the results are rather shocking!
Soon after the news broke, suspicions started pouring in and people started asking whether the couple had to go through the marriage under the pressure of an upcoming pregnancy. A close friend of Dhupia revealed that the couple got married after Dhupia observed her growing belly and suspected it to be a baby. However, it was only after the honeymoon, that Dhupia realized that it was nothing but a swollen tummy. On being questioned about the rather obvious baby bump, Angad Bedi denied sharing details and blamed it on beer-belly.
ETimes’ correspondent, like most of the journalists today, added spice to the story and falsely reported that both Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi are pregnant.
This is not the first time that a journalist has indulged into spreading falsehoods. Just recently NTDV’s Rubbish Kumar was caught red-handed spreading the fake news that he received threatening calls warning him to stop his journalism. The allegations were found baseless prima facie as Rubbish Kumar has no relation with journalism whatsoever.
