An employee of the electricity department in Uttar Pradesh mistook his office roof leakage for rain and immediately cut the power supply, earning a nomination for the Employee of the Month.
Speaking to The Fauxy, the employee said, “We are trained for only one thing — to cut the electricity supply before the first drop of rain hits the ground. Even during my training, I once mistook my own sweat for rain, cut the power supply, and became the topper of my batch because of it. Now, thanks to these rotting government buildings, I’ll become the Employee of the Month.”
However, just before the Employee of the Month announcement, his colleague mistook some droplets from the office cooler for rain and cut the power supply, snatching the title from him.
