Big news is coming from the City of Dreams and Vadapav, Mumbai, where Govinda has taken the next step in any former Bollywood star’s career and entered politics by joining Shiv Sena.

Speaking to Fauxy, he said, ‘I was confused about which Shiv Sena to join, but then I remembered the rule that had made me successful in Bollywood: only work with Number 1, whether it be in movies or politics. So, I joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, as the ruling party is always number 1.’ Indirectly calling Udhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena number 2. ‘Number 2’ is the perfect name to call Udhav’s Shiv Sena, given the way it has politically gone down the toilet.

He is likely to contest from Mumbai Northwest, which is his ‘best face angle,’ as told by many directors. This is not his first time in politics; earlier, he joined Congress in 2004 when Congress won the majority and became the number 1 political party in India.

Govinda says he has also offered Johnny Lever the role of his personal secretary, just like in the good old days. If only Kader Khan were alive, he could have asked him to be his opponent and would’ve garnered the votes of all the 90s kids based on nostalgia alone.
