A number of Americans reported felt tremors and posted about the same on social media. However, the US Center for Seismology (UCS) clarified that there’s been no earthquake recently and so many people feeling tremor at once must be a coincidence.
All the people who complained of tremor had one thing common – Pfizer. It was learned that all these people mistook Pfizer side effect of body part tremor for earthquake.
According to Pfizer spokesperson Johnson, the tremors are a “rare but manageable” side effect of the drug, and should not deter patients from taking it.
“We understand that some patients may be concerned about the tremors,” Johnson stated. “But let’s be real, a little shaking is a small price to pay for the benefits of this life-saving medication.”
But not everyone is convinced. Critics have pointed out that the tremors can be debilitating and greatly impact a person’s quality of life.
“It’s unacceptable for a drug company to brush off a serious side effect like this,” said consumer advocate Francis. “Patients deserve to know all the potential risks before taking a medication.”
In response to the backlash, Pfizer has announced plans to release a new line of “tremor-control” drugs, which will be available at an additional cost to patients.
“We understand that the tremors can be disruptive,” Johnson said. “That’s why we’re offering patients the option to manage them with our new line of tremor-control drugs.”
Despite the mounting criticism, Pfizer remains defiant, stating that “business is business” and people keep mistaking it for a harmless earthquake.
