UP Election: BJP Concedes Defeat After Winning 300 Seats, Asks Akhilesh Yadav to form the Government

The counting of votes for the 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh began on Thursday morning. The BJP is currently leading in 300 seats as against 100 of its nearest rival Samajwadi Party in the initial rounds of counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh.  However, BJP has conceded defeat and has requested SP Leader Akhilesh Yadav to form the government.

Earlier today, PM Modi read an article of The Wire that reads “BJP will be a loser even if it wins Uttarpradesh“. Modi was moved with the depth of the article and called Yogi to concede defeat and let Akhilesh form the government.

What’s the point of winning, if we are still called loser. Let accept the defeat instead” told PM Modi to The Fauxy after taking the decision in consultation with Home Minister Amit Shah, Party president JP Nadda and CM Yogi Adityanath.

BJP is likely to give external support to the SP and Akhilesh Yadav who will be taking oath of CM on coming Sunday.
