Seeing The High Number Of Positive Covid Cases, Maharashtra Govt To Isolate/Quarantine Covid Negative People Now

Maharashtra reported 59,907 new COVID-19 cases in the highest ever single-day spike today, taking the overall caseload to 31,73,261. The state also reported the highest single-day death count due to coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic with 322 fatalities. The state is now considering other ways to combat rising COVID19. If sources are to be believed the state govt is now thinking of quarantine and isolate COVID Negative people instead of COVID positive. The argument given is that soon the number of positive people will outrun the number of negative people and fewer amount of resources will be required to isolate negative people.

If we start isolating COVID Negative people then COVID Positive people will have more places to go to without the risk of infecting negative people. and this will give COVID Positive people some relief and less anxiety.” said one of the state govt officials to The Fauxy.

The state govt is also mulling over the idea that if 100% of people are COVID Positive then there will be a need for only hospitals and no quarantine or isolation and tests will be needed and seeing low mortality rate a majority will survive through.
