The Fauxy did a wide research and found out Lemon price rise is affecting almost every sector from FMCG, Dairy industry, Automobile sector, alcoholic beverages industry to the informal sector.
Alcohol Beverage Industry, Tequilas : Speaking to The Fauxy, a bar owner talked about reduced footfall in his bar due to rising price of Lemon, which customers demand after having a Tequila shot.
Dairy Industry, Paneer (Indian cottage cheese): A dairy shop owner complained about how no market in Lemon is making it impossible to make Paneer out of milk and causing him loss in the tunes of thousand everyday.
Car Manufacturing Industry: Automobile sector too is adversely effected with the lemon price soar as people aren’t willing to buy a new car as they can’t afford to hang lemon in their new car.
Education Sector, Lemon Spoon Race: Kids have seen offline classes after two years but are missing the lemon in lemon spoon race.
Informal Economy, Black Magic: Over 70% of India’s economy is informal economy, and a major contributor of this sector is people who do black magic, however, the lemon price is making them out of work.
FMCG Sector, Detergent: Many detergent claim to have the power of over 100 lemon, however, after the rise in price of lemon, the same detergent are now claiming to have power of only one to two lemon, causing massive decrease in their sale.
Modi government should take the lemon price seriously and the government must bring new policy to control the price of lemon, which has doomed the Srilanka economy.
