Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, brands around the globe have shown support to Ukraine and stood against Russia for its aggression. The trend of exiting the Russian market has now turned into a mass exodus of western companies. Leading shoe brands such as Adidas, Nike, Puma etc have exited from the Russian market, leaving Russians to local or duplicate brands.
The brands exit from the Russian market is now very evident and the recent footage of Putin is a prime example of it. On Sunday, Putin was seen wearing Abibas shoe, a duplicate copy of popular Adidas shoe.
However, the Russian president’s office has denied the news, saying the photo was taken through a mirror which made Adidas appear as Abibas.
“Even if we believe it was a photo through mirror but why his defence minister was wearing NIEK shoe?” asked the photographer who clicked Putin in Abibas shoe.
