Modi on Women's Day

On the occasion of Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account bio has been updated. PM Modi has added the pronoun She/Her in his bio to promote the idea of gender equality. Reportedly, every women’s day, PM Modi will identify himself as a woman.

This has made PM Modi the first gender-fluid prime minister of India. Previously on women’s day, PM Modi had let some successful women handle the official account of the Prime Minister.

While PM Modi has earlier been compared with the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, but from today, Modi will also be compared with the first women prime minister of India, Smt Indira Gandhi.

Apart from updating his Twitter bio, PM Modi will also interact with Nari Shakti and Purush Shakti with She/Her in their bio. Reportedly, PMO has identified 84 women and 16 men with She/Her in their bio for interaction with PM Modi. The interaction will take place online and later President Ram Nath Kovind will award these Nari Shakti and Purush shakti with She/Her pronouns.
