Pakistan’s Gaddafi Stadium’s Frequent Power Cuts Mistaken for a Light Show

The still-under-construction Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore experienced frequent power cuts, which were mistaken for a light show by the Pakistani audience.
Pakistan is set to host this year’s Champions Trophy, with the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand scheduled for February 20. However, the stadium remains under construction, and the power supply is unstable. During its inauguration, the floodlights flickered on and off so frequently that the Pakistani crowd began clapping, believing it to be a light show. Even the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) went along with it, officially declaring it a light show.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a Pakistani spectator said, “I have never seen such a light show in my life,” while another added, “I have never seen light in my life.”
Currently, the PCB is ignoring water leakages, hoping people will mistake them for a fountain show.
