The past week witnessed two major incidents that have a common motive – an attempt to establish religious supremacy. A Pakistan based militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammad, killed more than 40 CRPF jawans in a suicide bomb attack. In another news from Syria a Jihadi bride Shamima, the British schoolgirl who ran away to join ISIS, appealed public for sympathy following the birth of her son and requested authorities to allow her to return to the UK.
After the Pulwama attack, many anti-national elements across the country were caught celebrating terrorism and the killing of jawans. All these happenings have proved that terrorism has nothing do with Islam. “While ISIS stands for the Islamic State & Jaish-e-Mohammad also has the prophet’s name in it, Islam seems to be just a cover-up for a group with a more malicious agenda, ” says Darkha Butt.
While trying to defend the terror attack in an interview to NDTV, Pakistan’s security advisor pointed out that religion shouldn’t be brought up while discussing terrorism. He also said that Islam has nothing to do with Islam.
