Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations of Pakistan, Asif Ghafoor, has been nominated for honorary rank in the Pakistan Army. The announcement was made by Pakistan PM Imran Khan during a high-level meeting on finalising the price of naan and roti.

Protesting against the Indian government for abrogating article 370, Pakistan government and Pakistan Army have been very vocal on social media and started a campaign with the hashtag #15AugustBlackDay on the eve of Indian independence day. All the top officials of the Pak Army and the government updated their profile picture with a black image. Reportedly, the hashtag became the top trend in Pakistan and Imran Khan used these statistics to strengthen its case in the UN.

Although the UN rejected Pakistan’s proposal of intervening in India’s internal matter, Pakistan has discovered a new source of income – Social Media marketing – trending hashtags about new products of various brands. The idea of social media protest was suggested by Asif Ghafoor, and seeing its success Pakistan government and Pakistan Army unanimously decided to honour him with top military rank. This will be the 15th medal on Asif Ghafoor’s uniform without winning any war.
