Big news is coming in from New Delhi, where, in a recent opposition meeting, it was decided to demand reservations in IPO allotments based on caste. The opposition is likely to officially submit these demands in the upcoming winter session of Parliament.
Recently, many companies, such as Bajaj Housing Finance, had their IPOs, and investors who were allotted shares made substantial profits. The opposition noticed that almost all IPOs are oversubscribed, and the allotments are made via a computerized lottery system. Following their usual tactic of bringing caste into everything, the opposition started accusing the computerized system of discriminating based on caste. They have decided to demand reservations in IPO allotments, where bidders’ caste certificates would be submitted along with their bidding amounts.
Speaking to The Fauxy, Rahul Gandhi, said, “We believe computer systems are biased towards upper castes because they are mostly programmed by upper castes. So, we want reservations in IPO allotments so every caste can get their fair share based on their population.”
Currently, Rahul Gandhi is demanding a caste census of people who won recent IPO allotments to support his theory that computers are caste is t and only allot shares to upper castes.
