Nirmala Sitharaman to Make Upma Instead of Halwa Before Budget Session Due to Increased GST on Sweet Items
Due to the increased GST on sweet items, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to prepare Upma instead of Halwa for the upcoming budget session.
Fauxy sources suggest that Nirmala Sitharaman will take half of the Upma with her, just like how she takes half of the middle class’s salary.
It is also expected that Nirmala Sitharaman will increase taxes in this budget session to ensure the government has enough funds to make Halwa before next year’s budget session.
