Today, the world’s largest cricket and sports stadium, Motera stadium was inaugurated and renamed after Narendra Modi. Soon after the inauguration the debate began why the stadium has been named after a political person and to defend the same the ruling party nominated Narendra Modi for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. The nomination justified the naming of the stadium and also pushed the opposition to Backfoot.
“Narendra Modi has done as much to cricket as Rajiv Gandhi has done to sports award, Indira Gandhi to Airports and Mahatma Gandhi to Indian Currency.” Said an apolitical commentator
