Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh has removed more than 37,000 loudspeakers from religious places. It also reduced the volume of 55,000 loudspeakers. The removing of loud speaker has made lakhs of muslims uneasy as they are afraid that their prayers will be unheard now.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a muslim man said “I used to scream from my stomach to make my prayers heard and my only prayer is to remove this BJP government, and now the same government is removing loud speakers to make sure our prayers remain unheard and they remain in power“.
Another muslim man claimed that this is against the idea of India as removing loud speaker would mean no speaker in Lok Sabha as well and in the absence of speaker in Lok Sabha BJP will pass bills of their choices.
Mahua Moitra defended the loud speaker enthusiasts. “Sometimes we have to speak loud to ensure that we are heard” said Mahua Moitra loudly.
