After almost a two year long break, Abhishek Bachchan is looking forward to coming back with his film Manmarziyan in which he’s playing the role of a Sardar. However, unlike Abhishek Bachchan, the Sikh community isn’t quite excited about the idea that it is Abhishek who is playing the role of a Sardar.
Abhishek Bachchan has always been a butt of jokes and the Sikh community is worried that casting him as a Sardar shall tarnish their reputation. The Sikh community believes that Abhishek Bachchan playing a Sardar would re-instigate people to joke about Sardars, thus eventually leading to the revival of their Santa-Banta jokes image.
Our sources confirmed that Sikh organisations have decided to call a nationwide bandh and shall stage protests outside the theatres playing Manmarziyan.
It’s not the first time when a community has taken offence with Abhishek Bachchan. Earlier when Abhishek was cast in the role of a Hindu, the entire Hindu community got offended and in another movie where his religious identity wasn’t revealed, the atheist community was reported to have got offended.
