Violence broke out in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Saturday as stones were pelted at a Hanuman Jayanti procession passing through the area, resulting in injuries to police personnel and locals. The situation is under control now and Delhi Police has made 12 arrested so far.
Reportedly, stone pelting started from the roof of the mosque and nearby houses. Police raided multiple houses and found a huge number of stones on the roofs of these houses.
A man who was arrested for keeping a large number of stone at his house roof said the stones must have been blown on to the house roof by the wind.
“I don’t know anything about stones, I myself is stoned” Md Aslam told Police officers. “It’s a windy day. Stones must have flown to my roof” further added Md Aslam. Md Aslam admitted that the gun and petrol bomb are his but he has no idea about stones.
The man demonstrated that wind can actually change the path of stone by dropping a small stone in front of his cooler. He was later released on a bail.
