A fundraiser had gone viral on microblogging site Twitter where a trans-woman, Gaurang alias Prakriti, had raised funds for laser hair removal after she decides to identify themselves with She/Her. The trans-woman managed to raise more than 50% of their target within an hour, inspiring more people to raise donation for their needs and wants.
A cancer patient, who was failing to raise funds for his chemo therapy, got inspired by this and changed the title of her fundraiser. The cancer patient changed the title to “hair removal” and was overwhelmed to see a lot of people donating now. Speaking to The Fauxy the cancer patient said “All this while I was thinking people are inhumane and insensitive, but today I realised it was me who lacked creativity and people at large are generous.
The patient further added, “Anyway I am gonna lose my hair to chemo therapy, so whether I ask for chemo therapy or hair removal therapy it’s one or the same thing. I must be helped that is what matters.”
