Wanted in India for a Rs 9,000 crore loan fraud, fugitive tycoon Vijay Mallya shall be extradited to India for further investigations and punishment, as ruled by the UK court today.

Soon after Christian James Michel, the middleman in the AgustaWestland chopper deal was extradited, fearing the same fate, Vijay Mallya agreed to repay all his loan without interest. However, the Government of India is in no mood to spare him and hence kept fighting a tough case against him and won it.

After the news of his extradition broke, the Government of India made a big announcement and gave Mallya an offer he cannot possibly refuse. The Indian government has asked Mallya to bring back the Kohinoor, the famous Diamond that the British took away from India during its pre-Independence days. The government added that if he manages to bring the Kohinoor back, Mallya’s jail term shall be significantly reduced and he would not have to pay the interest portion of his loan too.

More details on this story are awaited.
