West Bengal: An IPS officer who reportedly committed suicide has accused West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of abetting his suicide in a note that was discovered later. IPS officer Gaurav Dutt was found in a pool of blood after slitting his wrist, allegedly under the pressure of the state’s CM.
While many BJP supporters attacked Mamata Banerjee for oppressing officers, TMC supporters hailed the suicide note as evidence of ‘Freedom of Expression’ in West Bengal.
“This suicide note is an example of peak FoE under Mamata Banerjee! Not only the living, but even the dead have a right to express themselves in the Republic of West Bengal. What more do you seek?” said Derek O’Brien in a presser right after the suicide note was leaked.
Mamata Banerjee is notorious for doing away with dissenters and has the blood of many BJP workers in her hand. However, in this case, the recovery of a suicide note has impressed the media and liberals alike.
“If you note, Gauri Lankesh did not even get a chance to pen down a suicide note. Such is the state of affairs under Modi government! This is tyranny, this is fascism and I think Modi should better resign!” said Sagarika Ghose, an alleged journalist.
