India to take a day break from “Getting Rid of Symbols of Slavery” Campaign to mourn Queen Elizabeth II death
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Rajpath symbolised India’s “slavery” and has now been consigned to history as he inaugurated the revamped stretch with a new name, Kartavya Path.
Reportedly, Govt of India is running a campaign “Get rid of symbols of slavery” under which the government is taking several steps to eradicate any sign that reminds Indian’s of being a British colony once. However, the campaign has now been paused for a day as Queen Elizabeth II died.
Through a press release, Govt of India informed the people of India that the campaign has been halt for a day to mourn the death of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The campaign will be resumed the next day.
Govt of India is also thinking of renaming Queen Elizabeth II once they resume the campaign as Queen Elizabeth is a sign of slavery. Details awaited.
