IAS Officer Suspended for not Posting Picture of Muslims Holding a Ganesh Idol

On Thursday, an IAS officer in Delhi has been issued notice for not posting the picture of a muslim holding Ganesh Idol on his social media accounts as prescribed by protocol during Ganesh Chaturthi to promote the communal harmony in the country.
Amit Prakash, the district magistrate, has also been reprimanded for keeping track of new IAS officers social media accounts.
“He has violated the IAS rules of secularism” the authority alleged in its notice.
Local media has reported that during the IAS officer is posting developmental work of his jurisdiction but is avoiding posting Whatsapp forward, howeverm, he crossed all the limits when he didn’t post Muslim holding Ganesh idol.
Reportedly, earlier also, during Krishna Janmasthami, the IAS officer didn’t post a picture of burqa clad woman with his child dressed as Krishna and reported sick leave on that day.
“IAS officer is a post of high responsibility if a social media post can maintain the secular fabric of the country then it must be done” said the authority.
