Dunki Agents double their prices as “Deport By USA” becomes a status symbol in Punjab

Agents illegally sending people to the U.S. have doubled their prices after seeing that “Deport By USA” has become a status symbol in Punjab, with deportees flaunting it on their rickshaws, trucks, and tempos.

Speaking to The Fauxy, a dunki agent said, “If you escape authorities in the U.S., you earn in dollars; if you get deported, you enjoy status and a government job as promised by the Punjab government. Plus, the dunki route includes a world tour as well. So, it’s still a discount.”

An entrepreneur has also launched a matrimonial site exclusively for finding deported grooms, and people are willing to pay hefty dowries, which many deportees plan to use to attempt the dunki route once again and double their status by becoming “Deport By USA Twice.”
