‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ Slogans At Gautam Gambhir’s Rally

Cricketer turned politician and a current Member of Parliament, Gautam Gambhir, had to face major embarrassment on Sunday during a rally when individuals standing on either side of the road raised pro-dhoni slogans.

Dhoni and Gautam don’t share any rivalry that their fans do. In the World Cup 2011 finals against Sri Lanka, both Gautam Gambhir and Dhoni played exceptional innings to ensure India’s victory, however, Dhoni’s inning came at a much more crucial time and his winning six overshadowed Gautam’s 97 runs inning. Dhoni was awarded the Man of the Match for his 91 not-out. Since then fans of Gautam Gambhir and Dhoni can be seen trolling each other. Until yesterday the trolling was limited to online platforms but Gautam’s success in politics got Dhoni’s fans furious who then took it to the ground level.

“Gautam may have to face more of such embarrassing situations as from now on he’ll be with the public more often,” said cricket expert Akash Chopra
