China has long been claiming that it has successfully managed the COVID-19 crisis and vaccinated its people, a recent case of stampede has further established that China is indeed vaccinating millions of its people at once.
On Sunday, over one million people lined up outside a vaccination centre at Jixian County of the Jiangxi province of China. People lining up for the vaccine lost their patience and rushed to the centre, causing stampede. In this stampede many stumbled on the vaccine filled syringes and accidentally got vaccinated.
China later claimed how it set the world record of vaccinating million of its people in the blink of an eye. The same claim of China was later appreciated and lauded by many Indians journalists and political leaders who questioned Modi government — if China can why can’t India? What’s the use of such big population if India can’t create a stampede?
