An Indian Student Stranded In Ukraine Refuses To Board The Rescue Flight As She Didn’t Get Window Seat

As India faces the Herculean task of extracting more than 18,000 students from Ukraine, Minister of State for External Affairs told The Fauxy in an exclusive interview that close to 4,000 Indian students have been evacuated and brought back safely so far but some students have other priorities.

Reportedly, a few students despite screaming help help refused to take help when they were given help. Govt of India has started Operation Ganga to safely evacuate Indians students from war-torn Ukraine. However, a few students themselves aren’t getting rescued.

Talking to The Fauxy, an official from Air India said this after a student from South Delhi, Lavanya (name changed for safety) refused to board the rescue flight as she didn’t get window ticket.

Lavanya told The Fauxy that she feels a bit claustrophobic in aisle or middle seat and hence has never traveled without window seat. Lavanya said she can manage economy class but not a seat without window.

However, in next flight Lavanya was accommodated in cockpit so that she has window in all her side.
