On April 3, a man forcibly tried to enter the premises of Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh. He was armed with a sharp-edged weapon and injured two cops who tried to stop him. The attacker, identified as Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi, dodged security personnel at the temple while chanting Islamic religious slogans.

Later it was learned that Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi is an IIT Bombay graduate. IIT Bombay has claimed that Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi was a brilliant student and he had been an active member of various college societies especially, the flat earth society where he gave a special lecture too.

Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi’s friend and an ex-IIT Bombay student said that Ahmad never liked physics but he loved chemistry he was often seen mixing random chemicals sometimes leading to explosion. “He was probably trying to discover something” told his friend to The Fauxy.

Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi’s seniors say that Ahmad was very convincing he managed to get seven more students in flat earth society, which was on the verge of shutdown.

Ahmadon multiple occasion demonstrated that earth is flat. His statement – If earth is round and not flat then why isn’t our body arched when we sleep? gave many students sleepless nights” said one of his professors.
