Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday announced Tesla’s entry into the Indian automobile market by early 2021. Earlier, TESLA CEO Elon Musk had suggested that the company will come to India sooner than people think. However, Indian roads and traffic etiquette are challenges for the company. Reportedly, CEO Elon Musk asked his design team to incorporate changes conducive to the Indian driving style. After research for over two months, the Tesla design team updated its Artificial Intelligence which now senses the Traffic Police officer at signals and automatically takes out Rs 500 cash from the dashboard and swings it from the car window.
“We make changes to AI as per the countries’ requirements, For Japan, we made the car convertible to small aircraft, for India we did this Rs 500 offer and for Pakistan,, we just removed the AI and the engine and the AC,” told The TESLA Marketing Manager to The Fauxy.
