Quoting the overall business done by the three recently launched Bollywood movies, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday claimed that there’s no economic slowdown and opposition is spreading the rumor to create fear and panic among people. He also added that the country’s economy is sound.

However, there was an outrage on social media by users saying that the success of Bollywood movies isn’t right indication to judge country’s economy and in fact when there was a global crisis in 2008, Emran Hashmi starrer Jannat did pretty well.
Standup comedian, Atul Chatri, targeted Ravi Shankar Prasad and PM Modi for economic slowdown citing none of his tickets for upcoming shows have been sold and if the good sale of the movie tickets can be an indication of sound economy then no sale of his standup show tickets can also be an indication that economy is in doldrums.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, through a series of tweets, replied to the comedian Atul Chatri that if your show tickets get sold then I am not sure about the country’s economy but sure about the mental health of the people of this country and that’s something to worry about.
