Podcaster gets labelled as a journalist after his podcast with a politician appeared to be paid

People were quick to label a prominent Indian podcaster as a journalist after his podcast with a politician appeared to be paid, claiming that the podcaster was peddling propaganda for the politician after being paid, just like a journalist, so why shouldn’t he be called one. People also termed a coin for these podcasters ‘pAAPi‘ podcasters. Speaking to The Fauxy, the podcaster, offended by the label, said, “People can abuse me as much as they want, that’s their freedom of speech, but calling me a journalist is just too low, it’s defamation.” Currently, seeing their masters‘ inclination towards podcasts, many journalists themselves are starting it in hopes of staying relevant as well as on their politician masters’ payroll.
