Sonia Gandhi Denies Rajiv Gandhi’s Affair With Ganga

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who happens to be the daughter of Rajiv Gandhi & ex-Congress President Sonia Gandhi has significantly upped her ante for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with her latest move. The sister of the current Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi has stirred a controversy by being branded as ‘Ganga Ki Beti.’

Rajiv Gandhi had always been projected as a good son who was to carry on the legacy of the Gandhi family forward. Apart from his dalliance with a rumoured bar dancer, his personal life was almost scot free, only until now. Priyanka Gandhi has raised some serious questions on her genetic pool by being called as ‘Ganga Ki Beti!’

Political experts are not only viewing the tag as a failed attempt at garnering Hindu votes, but have taken a ‘deep plunge’ into the rhetoric by analysing the Gandhi hierarchy.

“Priyanka Gandhi Vadra might have just given us her own Dattatreya moment! Do you realise how big is it? I am so excited!” said Ghosh, a Gandhi enthusiast cum part time journalist.

As far as the legal wife of Rajiv Gandhi & the legal mother of Priyanka Vadra, i.e. Sonia Gandhi is concerned, the ‘Ganga Ki Beti’ is categorically incorrect.

Expressing her discontent with the reference, Sonia Gandhi said, “After the Bofors Scam, Rajiv’s loyalty for the nation might have come into question, but when it comes to his love life he was very loyal. There never was any woman named ‘Ganga’ in his life. This is opposition’s attempt at demeaning my husband’a legacy!”
