Zomato to Make Street Dogs Run After Delivery Boys for its 10 Minute Food Delivery

On Monday, Zomato announced that it will soon begin with 10-minute food delivery. Many on social media called it potentially dangerous for the company’s delivery partners.

On Tuesday, Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO of Zomato, through a series of tweets explained how Zomato will achieve the 10 minute delivery. Acknowledging the backlash that followed when Zomato announced a 10-minute delivery initiative, Deepinder Goyal said “the feature will only be available at night when the streets have dogs running after bikes and cars. And we will utilise these street dogs to ensure 10 minute delivery“.

Delivery partners will have to carry a small piece of cloth soaked with urine of a female dog while delivering food. The smell of these socks will make street dogs run after the delivery boys who in turn will drive/run faster, ensuring super fast delivery.

Zomato has done a survey to find out that over 90% of streets in India have street dogs running after bikes and cars. The feature will be first introduced in Gurgaon which has at-least 3 street dogs every street.
